Mr. Bobby Eugene Wilson age 71, of Northwood Drive passed away Sunday January 21, 2007 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. Mr. Wilson was born October 25 1935 in Harrison TN. to Thomas Ray and Mary Effie Burns Wilson. Mr. Wilson was a member of 1st Baptist Church of Elkin, and a Veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Wilson was the store Manager of J.C. Penny in Elkin and retired after 28 years of employment. Mr. Wilson was a past member of the Chamber of Commerce and The Merchants Association; he coached Little League Baseball and held membership in NASCAR where he was awarded the Mechanic of The Year Award. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Shirley Poole Wilson. Survivors include; his wife Susan Barrett Wilson of the home, one son Kevin Eugene Wilson and his wife Nancy of Elkin, one step son Barry Stephen Kennedy and his wife Amy of Jonesville, and one daughter Tia Wilson Schweikert and her husband Mark of Elkin, two grandchildren; Kevin Todd Wilson and Maia Marie Schweikert, and two step grandchildren Cameron and Connor Schweikert and a host of friends. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am Tuesday January 23, 2007 at Hodges Funeral Home Chapel by Dr. Bill Johnson. Burial will follow in Hollywood Cemetery. Military rights will be rendered by VFW Post 2019 of Mt. Airy and VFW Post 9436 of Pilot Mountain. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:30 - 8:30pm at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin.Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital Foundation or 1st Baptist Church of Elkin. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Glenda and Dickie Walters, to caregiver Mary E. Baker and Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital.
