Jonesville Mrs. Mary Belle McGrady Bauguess, age 82, of Jonesville, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away on Sunday May 1, 2005 at Hugh Chatham Nursing Center. She was born January 6, 1923 in Traphill, NC to Moss & Maude Johnson McGrady. Mrs. Bauguess was a member of Arlington First Baptist Church where she was a member of the WMU and taught an adult ladies Sunday school class for many years. She retired from Starmount High School Cafeteria. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ed McGrady and Roy McGrady; two sisters, Bessie McGrady and Dell Pendolino. Survivors include her loving husband of 57 years, Bedford Bauguess of the home; two daughters, Linda Liles and husband Tom of State Road, Elaine Goforth and husband Shelton of Winston-Salem; one stepdaughter, Helen Johnson and husband Earl of Winston-Salem; four grandchildren, Kristie Goforth, Susie Worthington and husband Jamie, Penny Liles and Tommy Liles; a great granddaughter, Emily Worthington; a brother, John McGrady of Traphill; a sister, Stella Baker of Concord. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Jerry Fugate. Burial will follow at Old Roaring River Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin. The family would like to express their gratitude to the friends, neighbors and to the staff of Hugh Chatham Nursing Center and Hospice.
