Elkin Mrs. Willye Adams Collins went home to be with the Lord on September 11, 2005. She was married for 62 years to Grady Collins. Willye was born on January 10, 1921 to Reverend J. Z. and Lula Chipman Adams. She is survived by, two sons and daughters-in-law: Larry Collins and his wife Linda of Boonville, Ronnie Collins and his wife Marilyn of Mechanicsville, Va. Mrs. Collins also leaves six grandchildren; Joseph Collins, Daniel Collins, Debbie Collins Evans, Todd Collins, Scott Collins, Neil Collins. Five Great Granddaughters and five Great Grandsons. Other surviving family members include one sister Blanche Key of Benham, one sister-in-law Doreatha Whitlock of High Point. Several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents Mrs. Collins was also preceded in death by seven sisters, Laura Hawkins, Ruth Adams, Mary Adams, May Cockerham, Kathy Messer, Eva Snow, Minnie Anthony. Three brothers, James Adams, Ernest Adams, and an infant Andrew Adams. The family will receive friends Monday from 6-8 pm at Hodges Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday at 2pm at Austin Baptist Church where she was as loving and faithful member for many years by Rev. Brian Wiles and Rev. Robert Pruitt. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
