Elkin Mrs. Beatrice Shores, age 85, of Johnson Ridge Road, passed away Sunday, August 12, 2007 at Elkin Healthcare. Mrs. Shores was born February 15, 1922 in Alleghany County to Charlie & Betty Simmons Brown. Mrs. Shores was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church and was retired from Chatham Manufacturing. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Boyd Simmons; her second husband, Fred Shores, Sr.; a son, Henry Simmons; a daughter, Betty Cox Simmons. Survivors include: two sons, Frank Simmons and wife Frankie of Austin, Tommy Simmons and wife Pat of Traphill; six grandchildren, six great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, August 14, 2007 at Union Baptist Church Cemetery by Rev. Stewart Roten.
