Donald Joseph "Butch" Vestal

State Road, Mr. Donald Joseph "Butch" Vestal, age 65 of State Road, passed away Tuesday, November 2, 2010. He was born May 2, 1945 in Forsyth County to Joe David and Hortence Darnell Vestal. "Butch" owned and operated Donald Vestal Grocery and was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. He was a mason and a member of Elkin Lodge #454. "Butch" was a devoted Christian and a loving husband to his wife Lavon and a devoted friend to many. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an uncle Douglas Darnell. Survivors include his wife Lavon Burnett Vestal of the home; brother Jerry Lee Vestal and his wife Lucy of State Road; cousins Helen and Johnson Vestal, and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted Thursday, November 4, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. John Attaway and Rev. Raleigh Burnett officiating. Burial will follow in Crestwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00-p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service. The family requests that memorials be made to Mt.
