State Road Mrs. Allie Woodle Walker, age 81, of Mountain Park Road, passed away Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at her residence. Mrs. Walker was born March 4, 1927 in Wilkes County to Ransom & Verlie Royal Woodle. Mrs. Walker was retired from Washington Mills and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James M. Walker and a sister, Stella Roberts. Survivors include: a daughter, Judy Walker Eldridge and husband Henry of State Road; a son, Ronnie Walker and wife Laura of State Road; two grandchildren, Ryan Walker, Adam Walker and his fiancée Jessica Cloniger; four brothers, Clyde Woodle of Elkin, Boyd Woodle of Wilkesboro, Conrad Woodle of Hamptonville, Doughton Woodle of Elkin; three sisters, Ethel Nichols, Eva Blankenship and Dicie Franklin all of Columbia, South Carolina. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 30, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Kenneth Wood and Rev. Kenny Wood. Burial will follow at Crestwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday one hour prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home.
