Lee Walker Miller

State Road Mrs. Mamie Lee Walker Settle Miller, age 79, of Grassy Creek Drive, passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2005 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Miller was born May 22, 1925 in Surry County to Avery Ford & Alice Kennedy Walker. Mrs. Miller was a loving Christian Lady and was a member of Grassy Creek United Methodist Church where she was very active. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Miller; a son, Terry Dennis Settle; three brothers and three sisters. Survivors include: two sons, Allen Gray Settle and wife Suzanne of Lakeland, Fla., Tracy Forrest Settle and wife Susan of Loveville, Md.; a stepson, Scott Miller of Elkin; two stepdaughters, Jimmie Taylor and husband Judd, Vicki Wells and husband Steve all of Elkin; a grandson, Avery Settle; a granddaughter, Tracie Daugton; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 12, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Grassy Creek United Methodist Church by Rev. Jim Prichard and Rev. Greg Simmons. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin.
