Elkin, Mrs. Bertha Lucinda Ledbetter Garris, 95, of Hillcrest Drive passed away Saturday July 10, 2004 at Elkin Heathcare Center. Mrs. Garris was born April 22, 1909 in Wilkes County to James and Carrie Blackburn Ledbetter. Mrs. Garris was a homemaker and a member of Charity United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John Carl Garris. Survivors include, Two Daughters and Son-in-Law, Ruby Swaim of Hamptonville, Estelene Barker and her husband Ray of Elkin. One Brother, Harden Ledbetter of Elkin. Two Sisters, Martha Prevette and Margie Shermer both of Jonesville. Seven Grandchildren and Thirteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Funeral services will be held Tuesday July 13, 2004 at 11:00 am at Hodges Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Bobby Prevette. Burial will follow in Charity United Methodist Church Cemetery.
