Grady Gambill Finney

March 3, 1924 — October 1, 2006

Elkin Mr. Grady Gambill Finney, age 82, of Elkin, passed away Sunday, October 1, 2006 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. Mr. Finney was born March 3, 1924 in Yadkin County to Ernest & Marie Colbert Finney. Mr. Finney was retired from Beroth Oil Company and was a member of Elkin Valley Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Olene Cooper Finney; two brothers, J.D. Finney and Fred Finney; a sister, Mozelle Johnson. Survivors include: a daughter, Kathryn Parks and husband Jimmy; two brothers, Junior Finney and Paul Finney; granddaughter, Kimberly Seipel-Parks and husband Joe; great grandson, Henry Cooper Seipel-Parks. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 4, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Elkin Valley Baptist Church by Rev. Johnny Blevins. Burial will follow at Roaring Gap Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin.
