Elkin Mrs. Rose "Molly" Alexander Gentry, age 99, of Austin Traphill Road, Elkin, passed away Wednesday, August 2, 2006 at Elkin Healthcare. Mrs. Gentry was born April 25, 1907 in Surry County to Richard Franklin & Media Mastin Alexander. Mrs. Gentry was a homemaker and was a life long member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Gentry; three sisters, Lucy Layell, Florence Wilkins, Jessie Alexander. Survivors include: two sisters, Mozelle Couch and Willie Alexander both of Elkin; a niece, Holly Couch of Elkin. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 4, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Danny Dodds. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 593 Pleasant Hill Drive, Elkin, NC 28621.
