Ronda Mrs. Lois Dlanda Carter, age 77 of Rocky Ridge Drive, passed away Friday, October 28, 2005 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Carter was born February 13, 1928 in Wilkes County to Ralph David & Noma Dowell Collins. Mrs. Carter was a homemaker and was a member of Thanks to Calvary Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a husband, Fred Reece Carter and a granddaughter, Infant Melinda Carter. Survivors include: four sons, Joe Carter of Newport, NC, Ronnie Carter and wife Frances, Larry Carter and wife Bridge all of Ronda; Kenneth Carter and wife Sherry of Elkin; a daughter, Kathy Cheek and husband Billy of Yadkinville; three brothers, Pete Collins of Winston-Salem, James Tip Collins and wife Nyoaka of Elkin, Harry "Boots" Collins and wife Imogene of Jonesville; two sisters, Louise Collins Martin and husband Frankie of State Road, Betty Rogers and husband David of Elkin; thirteen grandchildren, Edward Carter, Elizabeth Romero, J.D. Carter, Mitzi Casstevens, Michael Carter, Ronnette Carter, Billy Ray Carter, Tonya Renee Carter, Joshua Carter, Zachary Carter, Jeremy Carter, Richard Cheek and Karen Cheek; nineteen great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held Saturday, October 29, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery by Rev. Don Ball and Rev. Dennis Sexton.
