Ina Gentry Settle

January 27, 1915 — April 21, 2008

Elkin Mrs. Ina Nell Gentry Settle, age 93, of Johnson Ridge Road, formerly of Greenhorn Road, passed away, Monday, April 21, 2008 at Hugh Chatham Nursing Center. Mrs. Settle was born January 27, 1915 in Wilkes County to Walter & Viola Wiles Gentry. Mrs. Settle was a homemaker and was a member of Benham Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil W. Settle; three brothers, Reece Gentry, Olin Gentry and Aldean Gentry; a sister, Vetra Martin. Survivors include: two sons, Randall "Randy" Settle and wife Carolyn, Ralph Settle and wife Kim all of Elkin; three daughters, Carolyn McDaniel and husband Donnie of Mocksville, Linda King and husband James of Winston-Salem, Libby Banks and husband Brant of Sparta; a sister, Christa Lee Transou and husband Turner of Roaring River; a sister-in-law, Juanita Gentry of Roaring River; eleven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Ted Combs and Rev. Jason Wiles. Burial will follow at Benham Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin. The family will accept flowers or memorials may be made to Benham Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
