Ruby Welborn Boles

March 2, 1922 — March 8, 2006

Elkin Mrs. Ruby Welborn Boles, age 84, of Lyle Street, passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2006 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. Mrs. Boles was born March 2, 1922 in Surry County to Willie B. & Mary Welborn. Mrs. Boles was a member of Swan Creek Baptist Church and was retired from Chatham Manufacturing. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gilmer Clinton Boles, a brother, Ed Welborn; three sisters, Mary Secreast, Cleetie Cheek and Martha Boles. Survivors include: two daughters, Rebecca Darnell and husband Tim of State Road, Bertha Salley and husband Eddie of Elkin; three grandchildren, Scott Darnell and wife Shannon of Black Mountain, Brian Salley and wife Angela of Brevard, Michelle Salley of Fleetwood; two great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Salley and Davis Wade Darnell. Funeral services will be held Friday, march 10, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Hodges Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Johnny Blevins. Burial will follow at Hollywood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin.
