Gladys Sidden Warren

State Road Mrs. Gladys Sidden Warren age 92, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, of Zephyr Mountain Park Road, passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2004 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Warren was born October 15, 1911 in Wilkes County to Calvin & Dossie Holbrook Sidden. Mrs. Warren was a homemaker and a lifelong member of Old Roaring River Baptist Church. She was an avid seamstress and enjoyed making quilts and crafts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vance Warren; a brother, Dewey Sidden, four sisters, Etta Brown, Beatrice Holbrook, Alice Bourghs, Elsie Johnson; special granddaughter, Janet Barker Honeycutt. Survivors include: a daughter, Eva Warren Barker and husband James of State Road; a grandson, Stephen Barker and wife Ginger of Albemarle; two great granddaughters, Amber Honeycutt Sweeney and husband Brock, Amanda Honeycutt; one great great-grandson, Logan Sweeney. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 20, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at Old Roaring River Baptist Church in Longbottom. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin. The family will accept flowers or memorials may be made to Old Roaring River Baptist Church Cemetery Fund. Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin is serving the Warren family.
