State Road Mrs. Nannie B. Spicer, age 83 of Pat Nixon Road, passed away at Hugh Chatham Nursing Center on September 10, 2008 to go home to be with the Lord. She was born November 4, 1924 in Surry County to Rufus Doughton "Buck" & Mammie Mae White Dodson. Mrs. Spicer was of the Baptist Faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Rudy Niemiec, Grady Lyon and Derias Spicer; great grandchild, Kimberly Niemiec; an infant brother, Avery Lee Dodson; nephews, Charles Ervin Royall and Roger Dale Royall. Survivors include: a son, Ignatius R. Niemiec and wife Marie of State Road; four grandchildren, Teresa Niemiec Carter and husband Terry of Mocksville, John R. Niemiec and wife Maranda of State Road, Ticy Niemiec Shropshire and husband Marty of Dobson, Scott Niemiec and wife Carmen of State Road; eight great grandchildren, Caleb Carter, Ben Carter, Dawson Shropshire, Aiden Shropshire, Samantha Niemiec, Grayson Niemiec, Humberto Niemiec and Mia Niemiec; sisters, Ruby Lynn, Dorothy Royall, Veronia Luffman all of Elkin, Ronda Spicer of Pleasant Hill, Sally Dodson, Sethia "Belle" Dodson both of Elkin; brothers, Grady Dodson of Dobson, Ervin Dodson of Elkin; several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Friday, September 12, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church by Rev. John Attaway. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Friday evening from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church.
