Mr. Robert Harold Snow age 75 of Thurmond, a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, friend and neighbor died on Sunday July 25, 2004 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. He was born in Yadkin Co. on April 28, 1929 to Lonnie and Vena Snow. On October 24, 1947 he married his high school sweetheart Josephine Thompson and they were blessed with six children. He was a much loved man and he will be extremely missed in the community he called home as well as in the heart of every life he ever touched by his presence. Surviving are; his loving wife Josephine of Thurmond; their six children Libby Simpson of Yadkinville, Allen Snow of Pfafftown, Aldean Snow of State Road, Arlene Snow of Zephyr, Joe Snow of Thurmond and Christy Snow of Charlotte; his sons and daughters-in-law; eleven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, his sisters; Hilda Bryant of Thurmond and Helen Morrison of Boonville. He was a faithful, lifelong member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. He held many positions at the church over the years such as Sunday School Superintendent and teacher, choir leader, and he was instrumental in starting the Vacation Bible School program. For many years he was scoutmaster of Troop 644, Old Hickory Council. He also belonged to and was charter member of the Mountain Park Ruritans. He enjoyed 3 careers, a lifetime career in farming, 26 years at Chatham Manufacturing and most recently as a successful realtor. Funeral services will be held Thursday July 29, 2004, 4:00 P.M. at Pleasant View Baptist Church with burial in the Church Cemetery. The Family will receive friends at Hodges Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 6 until 9 p.m. and at other times at the home, 1436 Thurmond Rd. Thurmond, NC 28683. The family is thankful for the loving support they have received and are continuing to receive from friends and family and the unwavering support of Rev. and Mrs. Finley McCoury of Pleasant View Baptist Church.
