Mr. Tony Lee Harris, age 59, of Austin Traphill Road passed away Sunday, June 22, 2008 at his residence. Mr. Harris was born July 10, 1948 in Surry County to Grady and Florence Cheek Harris. Mr. Harris was retired from Rumple Furniture where he worked in sales and he attended Knobbs Baptist Church. Mr. Harris is survived by one son Tony Gabriel Harris of Hayes, his parents; Grady and Florence Harris of Elkin, three brothers; Jerry Harris and his wife Annette of North Wilkesboro, Ricky Harris and his wife Debbie of Statesville, and Randy Harris of Newton. Two sisters Cathy Canaday and Sandra Shaffner and her husband Marty all of Elkin. Several nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews and a special friend Amber Russell Funeral services for Mr. Harris will be held at 2pm Tuesday June 24, 2008 at Hodges Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Michael Osborne. Burial will follow at Knobbs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6-8pm at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin.
