Purlear Mr. Jesse Dee Martin, age 23, of Scenic Drive, passed away Friday, November 12, 2004 at his residence. Mr. Martin was born December 28, 1980 in Yadkin County to Danny & Cindy Bates Martin. Mr. Martin was employed at Burchette & Burchette Hardwood Floors and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include: a son, William Dee Martin of the home; a daughter, Haley Sierra Martin of the home; his father, Danny Martin of Mt. Airy; his mother, Cindy Bates Smith of Jonesville; his fiance Christine Bullard of the home; two sisters, Alisha Lee Smith of N. Wilkesboro, Merienda Nacole Sales and husband J.C. Jr. of Roaring River; a stepfather, Reuben Smith of Jonesville; maternal grandfather and grandmother, Alfred & Elizabeth Adams of State Road; maternal great grandfather, Dale Grover of Winston-Salem; paternal grandfather, Roby Dee Martin of Elkin; two nephews Dustin Tray Smith and Seth Triplett; a niece Love Sierra Taylor. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 17, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home by Rev. Jonathan Casstevens. Burial will follow at Dennyville Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin. Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin is serving the Martin family.
