Anthony Barnabei

February 29, 1928 — June 5, 2008

Elkin Mr. Anthony Barnabei, age 80 of Austin Traphill Road, passed away Thursday, June 5, 2008 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. Mr. Barnabei was born February 29, 1928 in Vineland, NJ to Antonio and Maria D'Auito Barnabei. Mr. Barnabei was retired from Landis Sewage Authority and was a member of the National Rifle association. He was also a veteran of the United States Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Brooks Barnabei. Survivors include: two daughters, Shirley Bedwell of Elkin, Toni-Ann Schilling of Bridgeton , New Jersey; two brothers, Louie, and Albert; six sisters Rose, Louise, Viola, Julia, Lillian, and Maggie ; four grandchildren, Sherry Lynn Wilson, Larry Anthony Wilson, Michael Barnabei, and Steven Barnabei; five great grandchildren, Ricky Wilson, Dakota Wilson , Mia Wilson , Mickey Barnabei, and Justin Barnabei. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at 10:00 a.m., at the family cemetery by Rev. Travis Loyd. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin.
