Jonesville Mrs. Emma Lee Spann, age 97, passed away Thursday, December 28, 2006 at Hugh Chatham Nursing Center. Mrs. Spann was born February 13, 1909 in Wilkes County to James & Alice Porter Pardue. Mrs. Spann was a homemaker and was a member of Arlington 1st Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Odell Spann; two sisters and four brothers. Survivors include her daughter, Josephine Justice of Smithfield; four brothers, Noah Pardue, Bill Pardue, J.T. Pardue, Bob Pardue; a sister, Agnes Hickey; two grandchildren, Renee Wooters and Wayne Justice; two great grandchildren, Elizabeth and Emily Wooters. A graveside service will be held Monday, January 1, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Arlington First Baptist Church Cemetery by Rev. Jerry Fugate. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin.
