Hazel Crump Ladd

Elkin Mrs. Hazel Mary Crump Ladd, age 82, of Johnson Ridge Road, passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at Heritage Care. Mrs. Ladd was born February 11, 1924 in Chattanooga, TN to Lewis Henry & Della Elizabeth Morrison Crump. Mrs. Ladd was a homemaker and was a member of Thanks to Calvary Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robie Franklin Ladd; two brothers, Lee Crump and Floyd Colvard; two sisters, Bertha Reed and Pauline Walters. Survivors include: a son, Timmy Franklin Ladd and wife Lisa of Elkin; a daughter, Kathy Farris and husband Jimmy of Elkin, NC; two brothers, Harold Crump and wife Betty of Morganton, Raymond Crump and wife Jeanette of Elkin; four grandchildren, Robbie Robinette Ladd and wife Beth, Brian Absher and wife Suzanne, Preston Ladd, Stephanie Ladd; three great grandchildren, two step great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 15, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Thanks to Calvary Baptist Church by Rev. Don Ball and Brother Cliff Ricard. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Ladd will lie instate 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to The American Heart Association PO Box 5216, Glen Allen, Virginia 23058-5216.
