Alma Ruby Vanhoy

Elkin Mrs. Alma Ruby Lyons Vanhoy, age 85 of Johnson Ridge Road, passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at Elkin Healthcare. Mrs. Vanhoy was born April 13, 1923 in Yadkin County to Henry and Mammie Sprinkle Lyons. Mrs. Vanhoy was of the Christian Faith and retired from Chatham Manufacturing. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Vanhoy and a son Roger Lee Vanhoy. Survivors include: two sons, Willie Vanhoy, Jr. and wife Jeri of Speonk, NY, Freddie Vanhoy and wife Carol of State Road; a daughter, Virginia Wagoner of State Road; eight grandchildren, Bruce Vanhoy, Chad Wagoner, Sammy Wagoner, Bill Vanhoy, Jason Vanhoy, Joey Vanhoy, John Vanhoy and Jamie Vanhoy; eight great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 29, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home Chapel by Kevin Killam and Harlan Hamilton. Burial will follow at Charity United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin.
