Irene Anne Krakovsky

November 4, 1932 — August 10, 2007

Elkin Irene Anne Krakovsky, age 74 of Texas Street, passed away Friday, August 10, 2007 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Krakovsky was born November 4, 1932 in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania to John & Veronica Sarwinski. Mrs. Krakovsky retired from Lake County Health Department in Illinois and was a member of St. Stephens Mission. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Stanley and Ted and a sister, Ruthie. Survivors include: her husband, Joseph Krakovsky of the home, two sons, Joe Krakovsky, Jr. and wife Ruth of Hennepen, Ill., Thomas Krakovsky of Waukegan, Ill.; two daughters, Veronica Krakovsky of Elkin, Catherine King and husband Kenneth of Wadsworth Ill.; a brother, George Sarwinski and wife Linnea of Los Alamos, N. Mexico; three sisters, Regina Kowalski, Anne Murphy and Francis Hughes and husband Roy all of Pittsburg, Penn; six grandchildren, five great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Sunday, August 12, 2007 at 4:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home Chapel by Sister Janis McQuade. The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the home at 115 Texas Street, Elkin, NC 28621 In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital, Elkin, NC 28621 Online condolences may be made at www.hodgesfuneralhomeinc.com Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin is serving the Krakovsky family.
