Jeffery W. Green 38 died April 1, 2011 at his home in St. Maries Idaho following a courageous battle with brain cancer. Jeff was born April 3, 1972 to Jack and Susie Ragan Green at Benewah Community Hospital. He grew up in St. Maries and graduated from St. Maries High School with the class of 1990. Following graduation he attended the University of Idaho where his undergraduate studies were in Business Education. He graduated the University of Idaho in 1995. He married Jenny Gindraux on August 15, 1998 at Cedar Grove. He taught school at Omak, WA and Plummer, ID while working on his graduate thesis at Boise State University. He then went on to a teaching position at Sandpoint High School where he taught Business Marketing and Computer Science. It was during 2001 when he was diagnosed with brain cancer. He continued working in Sandpoint for 4 years before taking a position with the Kootenai School District in 2004. While teaching at the various schools, Jeff was active in coaching baseball, basketball, volleyball and football. The tumors reoccurred in 2005 and again in 2008. He was forced to retire from teaching due to his health in 2009. He enjoyed playing golf, baseball, fly fishing and was active in the DECA and BPA programs at his school. He was a member of the St. Maries Church of the Nazarene. Jeff is survived by his wife Jenny at the family home along with their children Caden 10, Alyssa 9 and Brennan 4 Green. He is also survived by his parents Susie and husband Scott Markovich of Post Falls, ID and Jack and Ann Green of St. Maries. Also surviving are his sister Joey and her husband Scott Jeske of Seattle, WA, brother Mike Markovich of Post Falls, ID, step-brother Chad Borgman and wife Kasey of St. Maries and step-sister Britt and husband Donald Burton of Fernwood. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews: Kyle, AJ, Tyler, Zach, Colton, McKenna, Bailey, Katie, Kolby, and great-nephew Carter. A celebration of Jeff's life will be held on Saturday April 9, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Maries Church of the Nazarene gymnasium with Pastor A.J. Anderson officiating. A gathering of family and friends will follow services with a meal. We are celebrating Raiders style, please feel free to wear Raiders gear or colors.
