Mr. Joel Everette Griffith, age 51, of Gwyn Avenue, passed away , Friday May 12, 2006 at Northern Hospital of Surry county. Mr. Griffith was born September 8, 1954 in Carthage, Missouri to Ross and Bobby Sue Swindle Griffith. Joel Griffith a best friend to all and everyone he ever met. A loving and devoted son, father, grandfather, and husband. A man whose love for friend and family is only surpassed by his love for the Lord. Joel was self employed in the internet marketing business. Survivors include his wife Karen Lyles Griffith of the home. His parents Ross and Bobby Sue Griffith of Lexington N.C. Three sons, Chance Griffith , and Russ Griffith of Lexington , N.C. and Adam Griffith of Thomasville, 0ne step-son Chris Reavis of Hamptonville, One Step-daughter, Trista Johnsen of N. Wilkesboro, two grandchildren, Zachary Ebert Griffith, Gavin William Griffith, and one step-grandson James Bryce Johnsen. Funeral services will be held Tuesday May 16, 2006 at 11:00 am at Hodges Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. John Wishon. Burial will follow in Hollywood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00-8:00 pm at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin.
