Mrs. Elsie Vestal Salley, age 88, of C.C. Camp Road, passed away, Tuesday, March 13, 2007 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Salley was born March 3, 1919 in Yadkin County to Lavorn Whitfield "Whit" & Mary Caroline Haynes Vestal.

Mrs. Salley was a homemaker and was an active member of Elkin Valley Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Edward Salley; five brothers, Lon Vestal, T.R. "Chuck" Vestal, Kim Vestal, Horace Vestal, Spence Vestal; three sisters, Ginnie Vestal, Leona Macy, Sadie Pardue.

Survivors include: five sons, Gary Salley and wife Gayle, Eddie Salley and wife Bertha all of Elkin, Lavorn Salley and wife Linda; Steven "Bo" Salley and special friend Wanda Collins all of Jonesville, Robert "Tiny" Salley and wife Phyllis of Elkin; twelve grandchildren, Cindi Salley of Jonesville, Melinda Perez of Boonville, Shannon Clark and husband Adam of Macon, Ga., Amy Southerland and husband Mark of Southport, Theresa Bowling and husband Bradley of Caswell Beach, NC, Brian Salley and wife Angela of Brevard, Greta Cave and husband Milton of Elkin, Michelle Salley of Boone, Danny Salley and wife Kim of England, Ryan Salley of Caswell Beach, Ashton Southard of Elkin and Will Southard of Elkin; eight great grandchildren, Katrina Salley, Mechi Loredo, Kaitlyn Salley, Gracie Clark, Kyle Bowling, McKenzie Bowling, Charleston Southerland, John Clark; special niece and nephew, Rosa Lee Pardue, Gene Pardue and wife Shelby all of Jonesville.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 16, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Elkin Valley Baptist Church by Rev. Charles Lethcoe and Rev. Flake Mason. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Elkin Valley Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Elkin Valley Baptist Church Building Fund, 118 N. Elkin Drive, Elkin, NC 28621.
