Ronda, Mrs. Gladys Louise Cook, age 76 of Ronda, passed away Monday, October 18, 2010. Mrs. Cook was born March 4, 1934 in Surry County to Luther and Lucy Wyrick Wiles. She was a homemaker and a member of Ronda First Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers Worth Wiles, Jake Wiles, and Wilson Wiles, one sister Ola Finney, and a special niece Linda Goad. Survivors include: her husband Charles E. Cook of the home, two daughters Teresa Anthony of Winston- Salem and Renee Sale and her husband Todd of Ronda; two sisters Lucille "Tootsie" Pennington of Crumpler and Dixie Lee Settle of Whiteville; five grandchildren Emily Hawkins, Charlie Sale, Charles Anthony, Jonathon Sale, and Hunter Anthony and one great grandchild Landon Sale. A graveside service will be conducted Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Hollywood Cemetery with Rev. Mike Hall, Rev. Rex Cranfill, and Rev. Ronnie McMillan officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the Cook residence, 14467 Elkin Hwy 268, Ronda, NC 28670. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 688 North Bridge Street, Elkin, NC 28621. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the nurses and staff of Mountain Valley Hospice for their care.
