Cecil Wagoner Whitaker

Elkin Mrs. Cecil Lee Wagoner Whitaker, age 89, of Brookfall Dairy Road passed away Sunday March 9, 2008 at Britthaven of Wilkesboro. Mrs. Whitaker was born in Yadkin County October 16, 1918 to Daniel and Lillie Mae Tucker Wagoner. Mrs. Whitaker was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church. For several years Mrs. Whitaker cared for many children in her home. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Gaither Whitaker. Survivors include; Two sons, Danny Whitaker and wife Charlotte of Union Grove, Steve Whitaker of Elkin. Three grandchildren, Jeff Whitaker and wife Cheryl, Dana Dowell and husband Mark, Chris Whitaker. Four great grandchildren, Marina, Sarah, Emily, Landon. A sister, Louise Wagoner of King. A daughter-in-law, Linda Milan of Elkin. Funeral services for Mrs. Whitaker will be held Wednesday March 12, 2008 at 2pm at Hodges Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Stewart Roten. Burial will follow in Cool Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7-9 pm at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin.
