Hamptonville Mr. Wayne Furches Thomasson, age 62, passed away Thursday July 17, 2008 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Thomasson was born February 9, 1946 in Surry County to Leon Furches and Beatrice Dickerson Thomasson. Mr. Thomasson spent most of his life working in the family business at Farm Service Center and a brief time in auto sales. Most recently the jobs that he took most pride in was raising his grandsons, his garden and driving a school bus for West Yadkin Elementary School. Mr. Thomasson was a member of Zion Baptist Church in Union Grove. He was preceded in death by his father. Survivors include; his wife, Sybil Somers Thomasson of the home. A son, Tracy Wayne Thomasson and wife Ginger. A daughter, Jill Thomasson Pierce. His mother, Beatrice Dickerson Thomasson all of Hamptonville. A brother, Jody Thomasson and wife Joy of Winston Salem. Two sisters, Ava Lewandowski and husband Ed of Clemmons, Anita Kernodle and husband Jim of Fort Mill, SC. Four Grandsons, Jonathan Yarboro, Blake Thomasson, Brandon Lynn Thomasson, Brett Jordan Thomasson. A brother-in-law, Dwight Somers and wife Mildred of Statesville. A sister-in-law, Retha Durham of Hamptonville. Many nieces and nephews. A celebration of Wayne's life will be held Sunday July 27, 2008 at 2:00 pm at West Yadkin Elementary School Multipurpose Room.
