Mary E. McLeod 98 lifetime resident of St. Maries, ID died Nov. 24, 2010 at Manor Care Center in Spokane, WA. She was born June 17, 1912 to Reginold and Dora Schultz Barnhouse at Bellingham, WA She grew up in Bellingham until she was 10 years old when she moved to St. Maries, ID with her parents. She attended school at St. Maries. As a young woman, she worked as a housekeeper for Mrs. Fulton Cook. She married Dan McLeod on October 6, 1930 at Spokane, WA They made their home at St. Maries. She was a homemaker most all of her life. She worked in the bakery at McLaughins Store and worked as a waitress for Pat and Scott's resturant. She worked many years as a seamstress out of her home for most all of her life. Her husband died in 1996. She was a member of the Community Presbyterian Church. She was Grand Representative to Prince Edward Island and Past Matron of the Order of Eastern Star Idaho Chapter # 49. She enjoyed watching baseball games, especially Kansas City Royals. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Mary and Mike Ferraro of Las Vegas, NV and daughter Dorothy Thompson of Portland, OR. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brother Richard Barnhouse and sister Dorothy Elliott. Funeral Services will be Thursday Dec. 2, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. At the Hodge Funeral Home, St. Maries, ID with Pastor Gary Foster and officers of the Idaho Chapter # 49 Order of Eastern Star officiating. Final resting place will be next to her husband at Woodlawn Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will follow at the St. Maries Masonic Temple.
