Traphill Mr. Carl Ira Cox, age 65, of Traphill Union Road, passed away, Tuesday, March 13, 2007 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. Mr. Cox was a born March 26, 1941 in Wilkes County to Walter & Eathel Smoot Cox. Mr. Cox was retired from Louisiana Pacific and was a member of Roaring Gap Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, J.B. Cox and Charlie Cox; a sister, Helen Taps. Survivors include: His wife, Alda Adkins Cox of the home; two sons, Michael Greg Cox and wife Tammy of Roaring River and Christopher Carl Cox of Elkin; a daughter, Sandra Kay Cox of Traphill; three brothers, Ed Cox of Florida, Sam Cox and wife Doris of Elkin, and Roger Cox and wife Amy of N. Wilkesboro; five sisters, Bernice Chisem, Analee Spivy both of Florida, Rosa Lee Barker and husband Dwight of Roaring River, Mildred Johns and husband Buddy of Florida, Kathleen Smith of Elkin; five grandchildren, Cory Cox, Ryan Cox, Laken Cox, Sloane Cox and Ashley Cox. Funeral services will be held, Saturday, March 17, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Roaring Gap Baptist Church by Rev. Ronnie McMillian, Rev. Jeff Collins. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Cox will lie instate 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin.
