I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4:7 Mr. Junior Curtis Wagoner, age 84, passed away Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Wagoner was born May 2, 1927 in Wilkes County to Noah Gordon Wagoner and Nancy Absher Wagoner. He was a member of Oak Level Baptist Church and attended Salem Baptist Church in Winston Salem. Mr. Wagoner was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during WWII. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Christopher Edwards and Michelle Wagoner; a great grandchild, Tyler Wagoner; and six siblings. Survivors include: his wife Mary Lee Pruitt Wagoner of the home; sons, Bobby Wagoner and his wife Donna of Winston-Salem and Michael Wagoner and his wife Sherry of Kernersville; daughters, Barbara Edwards and her husband Roger of Lexington and Tammy Barker and her husband David of Hahira, GA; brothers, Daniel Wagoner, Jerry Wagoner, and Gary Wagoner; sisters, Mary Lee Spicer, Linda Bauguess, and Gaye Bauguess; grandchildren, Denise and Darren Clemensen, Tim and Tina Wagoner, Mark and Amber Wagoner, Laurie and Michael Johnson, Johnny and Melissa Wagoner, Emily Barker, and Nick Barker; great grandchildren, C.J., Casey, Gabe, Garrett, Josh, Katie, Cheyenne, Olivia, Joshua, Cameron, Bella, Hailee, Bridget, and Ceaira. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Dr. Howard L. Wilburn officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Level Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors provided by the North Carolina National Guard Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family requests that memorials may be made to Novant Palliative Care, 3333 Silas Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 or to the charity of one's choice.
