Dwight Duncan Sale

Dwight Duncan Sale, age 84, of Johnson Ridge Road, passed away Friday, January 5, 2007 at Hugh Chatham Nursing Center. Mr. Sale was born October 5, 1922 in Wilkes County to Dana & Eva Duncan Sale. Mr. Sale was retired from Chatam Manufacturing and was a member of Elkin Valley Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Newman Haynes Sale; a sister, Mariam Bowers; a brother, J.E. Sale. Survivors include: two sons, Charles Sale and wife Debra of Denton, Gerald Sale and wife Gilda of Ronda; a stepdaughter, Dr. Jann Haynes Gilmore of Alexandria, VA; a brother, Dr. Larry Sale of Boiling Springs, a sisters, Lorene Colbert of Lomax; a step sister, Glenda Sale Blankley of Hamptonville; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 8, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Elkin Valley Baptist Church by Rev. Charles Lethcoe and Dr. Jann Haynes Gilmore. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin. The family will accept flowers or memorials may be made to Elkin Valley Baptist Church Building Fund, 118 N. Elkin Drive, Elkin, NC 28621.
