Roaring River Mr. James Pardue Alexander, age 72, of Tharpe Road, passed away Monday, November 22, 2004 at his residence. Mr. Alexander was born July 7, 1932 in Wilkes County to Walter & Cloyce Blackburn Pardue and later adopted by Christy C. & Epsie H. Alexander. Mr. Alexander was a veteran of the US Navy and was a self employed dairy farmer. He attended Pleasant Home Baptist Church and was a member of Masonic Lodge #483 in Traphill. In addition to his parents and adopted parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lillie Belle Martin Alexander. Survivors include: a son, Chris Alexander and wife Carla of Roaring River; a brother, Pete Alexander of High Point; five sisters, Mary Bost of Raleigh, Dixie Blackburn of Roaring River, Betty Bodenhamer of Dobson, Linda Long of Jasper, GA, Susie Jordan of Boca Raton, FL; a grandson, Clay Alexander. A graveside service will be held with full Masonic Rites on Wednesday, November 24, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Home Baptist Church Cemetery by Rev. Kenneth Jordan. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Masonic Home for Children, 600 College Street, Oxford, NC 27565. Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin is serving the Alexander family.
