Opal Childress Jolly

Wilkesboro Mrs. Opal Childress Jolly, age 84, of Wilkes Senior Village, passed away, Wednesday, January 04, 2006. Mrs. Jolly was born February 19, 1921 in Wilkes County to Marshall Brian & Lessie Mae Sparks Childress. Mrs. Jolly was a homemaker and was a member of Ronda First Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Jolly; a son, Albert Bryant Jolly; a brother, M.B. Childress; a sister, Eloise Higgins. Survivors include: a son, Billy Lee Jolly and wife Marlene of Ronda; a sister-in-law, Judy Jolly of Ronda; three sisters, Mozelle Trapp of Camden, SC, Agnus Brown and Polly Prevette both of Ronda; two grandchildren, Terry Jolly and Lisa Pardue both of Ronda. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 6, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Olin Barker. Burial will follow at Ronda Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin.
