Mrs. Mary Jane Wagoner Reynolds, age 62 of Elkin, passed away Saturday, August 13, 2011. Mrs. Reynolds was born July 15, 1949 in Surry County to David Roscoe and Esther Mamie Whitaker Wagoner. She was a former owner of 268 Grill in Elkin and was a dedicated member of Crosspoint Baptist Church in Elkin, where she remained active especially during, Vacation Bible School. Mrs. Reynolds was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and was a wonderful caregiver. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, L.G. Reynolds and a grandson, Logan Minton. Survivors include: son, Michael D. Minton of Elkin; daughter, Angie M. Cave and her husband Chris of State Road; mother-in-Law, Mittie Day of Elkin; brother, Benny G. Wagoner and his wife Joanne of Elkin; sister, Peggy M. Wagoner Couch and her husband Freddie of Elkin; four grandchildren, Dillon Minton, Tyler Minton, Erin Cave, and Caleb Cave; and many nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, August 15, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. in Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Chris Cave and Rev. Danny Dodds officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday afternoon from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Crosspoint Baptist Church, c/o Denise Benge, church treasurer, 431 Wagon Ridge Road, Roaring River, NC 28669. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center and the Regional Cancer Center at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital, Mountain Valley Hospice, and Amanda Spears for their care and to the Staff of Elkin Funeral Service for their kindness shown.
