Myrl Roberts Somers

July 19, 1936 — June 7, 2010

Myrl Roberts Somers, 73 of Thurmond, passed away Monday, June 7, 2010 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born July 19, 1936 in Wilkes County to Sherman and Addie Harris Roberts. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Somers was preceded in death by her husband, Dean Leo Somers. She is survived by two sons, Tim Somers and David Somers & wife Kim; two brothers, Smith Roberts & wife Betty and Jimmy Roberts & wife Billye Ann; two sisters, Dare Walker and Nola Reavis & husband Billy; three grandchildren, John Somers & wife Hannah, Stephanie Somers, and Garrett Somers; and one great grandchild, Ashlynn May Somers. A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at 2:00pm at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Victor Church officiating. Burial will follow in Union Baptist Church Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the staff of the CVSU Unit at Forsyth Medical Center for all their love and care shown to Mrs. Somers.
