Traphill Mr. Harold William Lyon, age 82, of King Billings Road, passed away Tuesday June 14, 2005 at his residence. Mr. Lyon was born August 3, 1922 in Wilkes County to Commie and Louray Hawkins Lyon. Mr. Lyon was the owner of Auto Glass and was a member and deacon of Roaring Gap Baptist Church. Mr. Lyon was a World War II veteran of the United States Navy. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Alan Ray Lyon. Survivors include; His wife of 64 years, Maxine Sparks Lyon of the home. A son and daughter in law, David W. Lyon and his wife Nancy of Traphill. A daughter, Gaye L. Swaim of Traphill. Two brothers, Rev. Amos Lyon of Elkin and Kermit Lyon of Ronda. Two sisters, Rosalee Collins of Ronda and Dorothy Harris of Elkin. Five Grandchildren and spouses, Ramona and Marty Hemric, Chris and Tori Lyon, Jonathan and Annette Lyon, Keela Lyon, Nathan Swaim. Five Great Grandchildren, Kaitlin Hemric, Miriana Lyon, Aiden Lyon, Mason Lyon, Gabe Lyon. Funeral services will be held Friday June 17, 2005 at Roaring Gap Baptist Church at 2:00 pm by Rev. Ronnie McMillan and Rev. Amos Lyon. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Lyon will lie instate thirty minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends Thursday from 7-9 pm at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Roaring Gap Baptist Church.
