Jeffery Scott Cooke

August 10, 1950 — July 19, 2004

Thurmond Mr. Jeffery Scott Cooke, age 53, of Hwy 21 Thurmond, passed away Monday, July 19, 2004 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. He was born August 10, 1950 in Surry County to Max H. & Helen Harris Cooke. Mr. Cooke was retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of High Point. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Vietnam Era. He was preceded in death by his father. Survivors include: a son, Janse Eliot Cooke of Walnut Cove; his mother, Helen Harris Cooke of High Point; a brother, Kim H. Cooke of N. Charleston, S.C.; two sisters, Amy Jacobs and husband John of Four Oaks, Virginia Coley of China Grove; one grandchild, Alex Cooke. A memorial service will be held August 29, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. on the grounds of Camp Cheerio in Roaring Gap. Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin is serving the Cooke family.
