Elkin Mrs. Nell Hazel Mounce Wall, loving wife, mother and grandmother, age 91, of Hugh Chatham Nursing Center, formerly of Sourwood Lane Elkin, passed away, Sunday, April 6, 2008 at Hugh Chatham Nursing Center. Mrs. Wall was born April 11, 1916 in Surry County to Preston Lindsay & Cordelia Whitaker Mounce; Mrs. Wall was a homemaker and was an active member of Bessie's Chapel Baptist Church as long as her health permitted. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gaither Thomas Wall; five brothers, a sister, loving son-in-law, Maurice S. King; a granddaughter, Catherine King; great granddaughter, Maura Powers. Survivors include: a daughter, Hazel W. King of Winston-Salem; a granddaughter, Patricia Powers and husband Keith of Kansas City, Missouri, a grandson, Michael W. King and wife Nicole of Terre Haute, Indiana; six great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at 4:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Ralph Groce and Rev. Joe Souther. The family will receive friends one hour after service at Hodges Funeral Home, burial will follow the receiving at Bessie's Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.
