Elkin, Mr. Harvie Sanford Wagoner, age 77, passed away Tuesday, May 25, 2010. Mr. Wagoner was born January 13, 1933 in Wilkes County to Gordon and Nan Absher Wagoner. He was a member of Oak Level Baptist Church and was a past sunday school teacher. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by five siblings. Survivors include his wife Betty Jean Wagoner of the home, daughter Joan Luffman and husband Billy of State Road, sons Donnie Wagoner and wife Faye of Statesville, Gregory Wagoner and wife Michelle of Elkin, and Todd Wagoner and wife Susan of Jonesville; brothers Junior Wagoner, Daniel Wagoner, Jerry Wagoner, and Gary Wagoner; sisters Mary Lee Spicer, Linda Bauguess, and Gaye Bauguess; six grandchildren Joshua Wagoner and wife Michelle, Ashley Luffman, Whitney Luffman, Kaitland Wagoner, Noel Wagoner, and Courtney Wagoner; three great grandchildren Gabe Wagoner, Piper Wagoner, and Eli Wagoner. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, May 28, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. James Hall and Rev. Wesley Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Charity United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7:00-9:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Hospice of Wilkes, 1907 West Park Drive, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659 or to a charity of ones choice.
