State Road Mr. Dennie C. Norman, age 80, of Mtn. Park Road, passed away Monday, September 20, 2004 at Elkin Healthcare. Mr. Norman was born July 27, 1924 in Yadkin County to Joseph Harrison & Sarah Cramer Hodge Norman. Mr. Norman was a retired farmer and was a member of Union Hill Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Lou Norman, six brothers, Garvey Norman, Winfred Norman, Garfield Norman, Early Norman, Ernest Norman, and Noah Norman; two sisters, Edna Norman and Ethel Money. Survivors include: his wife Pauline Cockerham Norman of Elkin Healthcare; two sons, Billy Ray Norman of the home, Joseph Linville Norman and wife Lois of State Road; one daughter, Nancy Sebastian and husband Douglas of N. Wilkesboro, a brother, Rev. Warren Norman of Yadkinville; six grandchildren, one step grandson; six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 23, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at Union Hill Baptist Church by Rev. John A. Harrold and Rev. Greg Simmons. Burial will follow at Union Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Norman will lie instate 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin. The family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to the staff of Elkin Healthcare. Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin is serving the Norman Family.
