Bobby Transou

Mr. Bobby Harold Transou, age 76, of Traphill Road, Traphill passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2004 at Heritage Care. Mr. Transou was born August 22, 1927 in Surry County to Russell & Jettie Carter Transou. Mr. Transou was retired from Chatham Manufacturing and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include: his wife, Velda Warren Transou of the home; one son Hal W. Transou of State Road; two daughters, Johna Gray Helms of Elkin; Nan Allison Transou of Thurmond; two brothers, Turner Transou of Lomax and Frank Transou of Elkin; two sisters, Agnes Hayes of Elkin and Dorothy Bryant of Jonesville; three grandchildren, Chad Helms, Haley Transou and Tyler Transou; two great grandchildren, Conner Helms and Andrew Winburn. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 14, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. E. R. Wiles, Rev. Billy Felts and Rev. Russ Nixon. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Roaring Gap Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Hospice of Surry/Yadkin County 1326 North Main Street Mt. Airy, NC 27030. Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin is serving the Transou family.
