Elkin After fighting the good fight and keeping the faith, Shelia Winters Smith, went home to meet her precious Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Mrs. Smith was born September 20, 1953 in Yadkin County to Dorothy Reavis. Shelia was a devoted member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where she worked with the Children's Choir and loved her church family. Shelia also was employed by Lowe's Companies where she had many friends. She was preceded in death by her brother, James "Whitey" Winters. She leaves behind her devoted and loving husband Steve of the home and beloved dog Chub; her mother, Dorothy Reavis of Yadkinville; a brother, Chris Reavis of Brooks; her father and mother-in-law, Harvey and Lorene Smith of Elkin; a brother-in-Law, Keith Smith and his wife Judy of Yadkinville; two special nieces, Haley and Kristen Reavis of Yadkinville; a special friend, Mary Alexander of Yadkinville. Even though she had no children of her own, Shelia was a mother to all; especially her church kids, which called her Mrs. Shelia. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 20, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church by Rev. Danny Dodds and Rev. J.P. Sizemore. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Shelia will lie instate 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will received friends Thursday evening from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Children's Ministry or DVD Ministry, Elkin, NC 28621 or to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mt.
