Wanda Faye Blodgett 72 longtime St. Maries resident died July 13, 2011 at her son's home at St. Maries following an extended illness. She was born July 17, 1938 to Jack and Nellie Miller Baskett at Carter County, Oklahoma. She grew up in Oklahoma. She was married to Stanley Lawson in 1953. The marriage produced one son. She and Mr. Lawson were later divorced. She married Tracy Blodgett in 1958. That marriage produced three more children. They lived in St. Maries in the late 1960's. She and her husband were baptized at the College Ave. Baptist Church by Pastor Bev Greer in the 1970's. They made their home between St. Maries, Wisconsin and Oklahoma. Besides being a housewife, Wanda worked at a professional cook in various restaurants in Wisconsin and St. Maries. Wanda and her husband were living in Grandfield , Oklahoma when her husband died in 2005 and she returned to St. Maries in 2008. She enjoyed reading and playing Wii games and games on the computer. Wanda is survived by son Stanley Lawson of St. Maries, son's and daughters-in-law Joseph and EdieAnne Blodgett of Durand, WI and Ronald and Ruby Blodgett of Grandfield, OK. Also surviving are her sisters and brothers-in-law Margie and Harold Bonds and Grace and John Nigh all of St. Maries, Evelyn and Jerry Wiersema and sister Bertha Jackson all of Lawton, OK and sister and her husband Shirley and Jimmy Williams of Grandfield, OK. Other survivors include 7 grandchildren including Karina Duke her caregiver and 2 Great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Tracy daughter Tracey Ann, sister Helen Thatcher and Brothers Buddy and Jack Baskett. A celebration of her life will be held privately by family members.
