Elkin Mr. Lawrence Poole, age 94, of Dillon Avenue, passed away Monday, May 29, 2006 at Hugh Chatham Nursing Center. Mr. Poole was born February 19, 1912 in Lawrence, Massachusetts to Joseph H. & Annie Robinson Poole. Mr. Poole was a retired accountant of various auto dealerships and was a member of Galloway Episcopal Church of Elkin and a member of the Free Mason's in Virginia. Lawrence was a volunteer for the Tri-County Christian Ministries. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a wife, Irene Scarth Poole; a brother, John Poole, a sister, Mary Chivall. Survivors include: a son, Robert L. Poole and wife Mary of Salem, Mass.; a daughter, Carol Anderson and husband John of Elkin, NC; six grandchildren, John L. Anderson and wife Terrisa of Georgetown, Tx., Elizabeth Anderson of Knoxville, Tenn., Robin Uglow and husband Gordon of Ruckersville, Va., Joshua Poole, Amanda Poole and Jared Poole all of Salem Mass.; four grandchildren, Robin Hodson and Christopher Hodson both of Knoxville, Tenn., Brian Uglow and Justin Uglow of Ruckersville, VA. Funeral services will be held in Methuen Mass. at a later date with burial to follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen, Mass. In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorials to be made to Galloway Episcopal Church in Elkin; Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 1326 N. Main Street, Mt.
