Maxine Wolfe Simmons

Elkin, Mrs. Maxine Wolfe Simmons, age 78, formerly of Waynesville, passed away Friday, October 15, 2010 at Heritage Healthcare of Elkin. Mrs. Simmons was born September 15, 1932 in Yadkin County to Charles Lee and Hallie Mae Pardue Wolfe. She was retired from Dayco and was a member of Grace Episcopal Church in the Mountains. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Edna Lee Stanley; three brothers Roger Wolfe, Ralph Wolfe, and Charles Wolfe. Survivors include her daughter Cathy Simmons Newbern of Park City, UT; two granddaughters Laurel Kristen Simmons Newbern of Park City, UT, and Kaycie Newbern Emmert of Atlanta, GA. The family will have a receiving of friends and family Saturday, November 13, 2010 from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at Jonesville First United Methodist Church. A memorial service will be held Sunday, November 14, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. at Grace Episcopal Church in the Mountains in Waynesville, NC. The family will receive friends following the service. The family requests that memorials be made to Grace Episcopal Church in the Mountains, 394 N Haywood St, Waynesville, NC 28786 or to a charity of ones choice.
