Thurmond Mr. Billy Dean Lovelace, age 59, of Roaring Gap Road, passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at his residence. Mr. Lovelace was born February 20, 1948 in Surry County to Ira W. & Irene Louella Higgins Henson. Mr. Lovelace was employed at Wilco Hess and was a veteran of the United States Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death a son, Jayme Lee Lovelace, a sister, Judy C. Lovelace and a granddaughter, Abigail Anne Lovelace. Survivors include: the love of his life, Peggy Hitt of Thurmond; five sons, Michael Clark Lovelace of Winston-Salem, Richard Clyde Wagoner of Burlington, Thomas Oliver Lovelace of Winston-Salem, William John Lovelace and Joseph Brian Lovelace both of Thurmond; two daughters, Collie Beth Lovelace and Sarah Anne Lovelace both of Winston-Salem; his father, Thomas Lee Lovelace of Sparta; two brothers, Winfred Lee Lovelace of Homestead, Fla., Bobby Gene Lovelace of Thurmond; nine grandchildren, Richard Dylan Wagoner, Brian Cody Wagoner, Kelsey Renee Manning, Cassady Hope Lovelace, Camaron Thomas Lovelace, Jaymes Alexander Lovelace, Brandon Lee Lovelace, Mary Jane Oceana Lovelace and Gabriel Keenan Lovelace. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 8, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Todd Byrd. Burial will follow at Hollywood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin. The family would like to say a special thank you to Shannon Maske of Mountain Valley Hospice for her special care and attention. Also to Vickie Lovelace for her love shown to Billy and his family during his sickness.
