Jonesville Mrs. Gladys Patricia Holcomb, age 61, of N. Mineral Springs Drive, Jonesville, passed away Thursday, August 21, 2008 at Elkin Healthcare. Mrs. Holcomb was born June 2, 1947 in Mechlenburg Co. Virginia to Levi Lee & Ella Mae Simmons Propst. Mrs. Holcomb was a member of Welcome Home Missionary Baptist Church and retired from Guardian Care. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Odell Propst. Survivors include: her husband, Norlan Holcomb of the home; a daughter, Renee Michelle Holcomb of the home; two brothers, Sidney Propst of Cordova, Tenn., Zannie Propst of Columbus, Georgia; three sisters, Jeannie Weeks of San Diego, Ca., Hazel Jones and Mary Shumate both of Wilkesboro. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 23, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Welcome Home Missionary Baptist Church by Rev. Ricky Johnson. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin. The family will accept flowers or memorials may be made to Welcome Home Missionary Baptist Church.
