Mr. William Thomas "Billy" Brewer, age 51, of Old Railroad Grade Road, Thurmond, passed away, Saturday, October 7, 2006 at Catawba Valley Medical Center. Mr. Brewer was born September 3, 1955 in Surry County to James Russell & Mary Lee Martin Brewer.

Billy is a member of Cools Springs Baptist Church and was employed at Candle Corporation. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a step brother, Bobby Brewer.

Survivors include: a son, Greg Brewer and wife Amanda of Elkin; his mother, Mary Lee Martin Brewer of Elkin; his stepmother, Bonnie Brewer of Thurmond; a brother, Larry Brewer and wife Christine of Hays; a half brother, Jon Brewer and wife Teresa of Thurmond; two sisters, Linda Swaim and husband James of State Road, Pat Burcham and husband Daryl of Jonesville; a half sister, Rita Groce of Hamptonville.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 12, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Hodges Funeral Home Chapel by Elder Greg Simmons, Rev. Don Ball and Rev. Kenneth Anderson. Burial will follow at Thanks to Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery.
